A small story of two brothers Arya and Abhiram in a jungle, their meeting with a stranger and a secret
The Silent Forest
Abhiram and Arya are two brothers currently present at the start of the jungle, their destination is 3 hours away from them, their uncle’s house, it’s night time and the jungle is now really scary, filled with thick trees and branches stopping moonlight to reaching the ground,
” Big Brother, I am scared” Arya told Abhiram, who also can feel the horror
The forest is filled with unsettling noises—whispers, distant screams, the rustling of unseen creatures, or the creaking of trees. Silence can be just as terrifying, as it feels unnatural and foreboding, it’s easy for someone to lost in here but these two boys they have to go,
” come on let me tell you a story” Abhiram told his brother Arya who seeing him with big eyes and shaking hands holding his arm
” hahaha, this way you won’t Scare from anything other than me” Arya want to say something but can’t because he is really scared and Abhiram is his big brother
“so here comes the old story”
“A long time ago there is a village where a farmer live, his parents died a little while ago and have no one remains in his family, He lives lonely and want to marry someone for fulfillment of his duty and to take care of his house”
“Stop, it’s feel familiar” Arya cut him mid sentence
“OK, where?” Abhiram get annoyed and it can be seen in his voice even if the annoyance not presence on his face,
” I for..don’t know” Arya want to say “I forgot” but say “don’t know” which tell Abhiram that he will not interfere now,
” Fine, so where I was, ah right” Abhiram take a breath ” that farmer always taking care of his fields and doing other work don’t have time for his home so he start finding a life partner for taking care of his house and meet many people for marriage but nothing happens because he have no one remains in his family”
“He thinks that he will live his whole life alone or will marry someone incompetent or someone bad, he even want don’t have enough time, his neighbors help him but there is a limit until one day he don’t eat food all day,after hard work of day and hunger he collapse near his field and when he came back to his senses he find himself back in his home”
‘what happened? Why am I in my home’ that farmer thinking, He heard some voices from outside of his room, He when sit and trying to think suddenly he see a female came in his house, she covering her face with veil therefore he can’t see it
“you get unconscious by hunger therefore I take you back home with help of other villagers, I made some food for you” The girl told him
” who are you?” The farmer asking her
“My father is a worker and my brother works in fields, I sometimes sell hand made wooden dolls, I saw you and do some help” The farmer is happy
“thank you for help, I have a question, can I ask?” The farmer think this as God’s sign and don’t want to loose opportunity
“what?, what you want to ask?” The girl want to go trying the farmer understand this and don’t want to make her uneasy ” so what is your father’s name, where you live, is there someone you knew in this village”
He don’t want to make her feel awkward still create a bad atmosphere
“I need to go, my father is waiting ” She was ready to go but the farmer stop her, then he politely tell
“I am sorry, i made you feel awkward I just want a partner who can take care of my home and me, if you want to go, I will not stop you”
The girl get Silent and said ” next time if we meet I will tell you my terms” After it she get out of his house
“Stop” The farmer also get behind her but can’t understand where she go there is no one, not a person or even a bird can be seen, it’s night time and nothing can be seen therefore he get back to eat the food she cook,
it was one of the best food he ate and after that he wait for her for Days to weeks to 5 months until one day he find her inside his home,
Amazed by this scene he want to talk but she talk “First you never ask me about my past, you can ask if necessary but answering is my decision,
Second I will show my face when I want, sometime I will cover my face with veil inside home infront of you
Third I will fulfill all my duties until you fulfill your, if you hurt me any day I will leave this home
Fourth you have to respect my tradition, I need to go out 3 days for once in year to meet my relatives…”
“we can go together ” farmer said and the lady see towards him with big eyes filled with pressure
“This is the limit between us, if you break it, I will go to never come here” she gave a warning and after that they both live a happy life
“what is scary in it, it’s a normal story” Arya suddenly interrupted
“Shut up, First listen full story” Abhiram annoyed again want to punch his little brother
They have a happy life and even have 2 children, Farmer have a happy life and nothing to care about life, He but one day he when came home was in romantic mood, his wife stop him but he remove her veil cloth and see her face,
“Aaahhhh, Aaaaahhh” He start screaming because he see a skull instead of face of his wife
” I told you to not do this?, aren’t I?, I am a ghost now i have to go”
After that she go take her children but not know what happened, the farmer beg her to remain
” I am sorry but it’s against the laws?” The ghost said
Farmer have eyes filled with tears “So why?, you accept me, Why live if you need to go”
“I can live until you don’t know, I can take the blame if something happened without you knowing but now it’s impossible?” She explain
“No, please I will kill myself, either kill me or live with me” farmer take their children and blackmailing her after which she go away to never meet him or it she thought,
farmer was also stubborn he on a full moon day one an unholy ritual to summon his wife and fortunately summon her back, she at last accept him but with some conditions
“Fine but you need to forgot about this, I have to use my powers” she tell him which he accept but “I only have one question?” farmer also have just one question he want to know even he forgot about it later
“what?”
“our children, are they our ?”
“they are our children with human body and ghost potential, they are human that can have ghost like powers you know ghost are pure energy”
Farmer after this answer fell sleep and the his wife use her powers to make him forgot about all things and they live a happy life
” what a ridiculous story, I never listen this type of trash horror story”
“I understand, it’s your first time listening this”
“Brother, i also have a question, this forest is called Dark Jungle and there are rumors that this jungle always filled with voice so why it is silent” Arya ask his brother
“haha, it’s your first time going to our uncle’s home”
“yes, it’s first time, mostly you and mother go there” He answer
” I understand, we many times play in this forest sometimes in night but thereis always this silence at night, am i right?” he tell and confirm something
” yes, its always remain in my mind, others told this forest never remain silent at night but i never feel like that” Arya just want to know it because other children never talk about it
We after this can see a small smile on Abhiram’s face “it’s not the forest is silent, all beings just hide due to fear”
This answer create a confusion “Fear, from who?”
“you will understand after some time”
Abhiram changing his walking direction and a sudden shift around him in shadows, his eyes Shining brightly and a sign appear before them “village’s crematorium”.
